Course Overview

This distance learning course will introduce you to the major compensation and benefits (C&B) challenges facing  organisations in the GCC region. Each module will focus on a different aspect of reward management and will cover  the principal issues enabling you to build a pragmatic approach to designing overall total remuneration packages  based upon best practices in the GCC. The theoretical material will be supplemented by practical examples and case  studies illustrating the different aspects of reward management, and practical checklists and tools that you will  find useful in your day-to-day work in both the C&B function and also in the HR department. There will also be  occasional quizzes and questionnaires to help you test your own knowledge through a relaxed method of  self-assessment so that you can gauge your own development as the course progresses.

As you study each module you will develop a stronger understanding of the role of the C&B function within the HR  department in organisations, and how to implement best reward practices in areas such as grading, pay policies,  bonuses, incentives, allowances, benefits and all the major areas of reward management that contribute to an  effective HR department.

You will be introduced to the most up-to-date concepts and be able to improve your performance at the same time as  you develop the skills and knowledge you need to advise both colleagues within HR and all managers across an  organisation on issues about compensation and benefits.

The course will progress in steady steps and each week you will only need to spend about five hours to become  familiar with the material contained in each module. By successfully completing this course, you will be equipped to face the C&B challenges in your organisation confidently and will understand the fundamental concepts of the C&B  function and reward management.
